The Creator of kids of foreclosure, Darielle McCray, is currently a 7th grade student in the gifted program at M.D. Roberts Middle School in Clayton County, GA. She has received recognition and awards on the local, state, and international levels for her body of work on how the foreclosure crisis has impacted children. This economic housing crisis has really affected the nation and with the ripple effect of the economy, businesses are closing, jobs are lost, and foreclosures to homes are happening daily. Over two million childrens are truly being affected by home foreclosures. When homes foreclose, students lose their schools, their academics are disrupted, and their behaviors may change. Clayton County NSP reached out to current homeowners by holding a Block Party where CCNSP bought some of the foreclosed properties and made necessary renovations. Current homeowners came and join the NSP Staff and Asset Managers Team to learn who is NSP and what NSP do. When the homeowners learned the goal of NSP, they have given us the sign of relief. Of course, they understand that it will not solved all the foreclosure problems but they know that these houses that sat vacant and uncared will soon have new homeowners who will care just like them. Clayton County Housing Fair was held on June 4, 2011 in Starr Park in Forest Park it was a success.
